Turtle Ridge is adding to its recycled tee shirt line, with:  “Story Book Jackets”.  They are hooded 3 season unisex wool jackets lined with recycled tees.  Each one is different and can be personalized with your own tees.  Another new design are canvas and stretchy neoprene bags that some of our smaller products snap on and off.  These offer customers an alternative to our more expensive leather bags.  They are sporty and lightweight.  We are introducing wet and splashy black patent leather small items to our product mix for a fresh take on spring.  We will have a tasting of organic foods from Wisconsin.  There will be a drawing for a bottle of Turtle Ridge wine.  Come to beautiful Ellison Bay, enjoy the arts and spring with old friends and new!

TURTLE RIDGE STUDIO-GALLERY

Turtle Ridge Studio-Gallery

If you have visited Turtle Ridge Gallery in Ellison Bay at the tip of the Door County peninsula, you may be familiar with our dog, Joey. He has been attending classes learning how to “come” and to “heel”, other than that he is perfect as you can see. Many of our summer visitors have asked where we got Joey. He is from Midwest Border Collie Rescue.www.midwestbordercollierescue.com If you have the patience, it is a good place to start. So many dogs need rescuing. We took one look at Joey and thought he would be a good replacement for our beloved dog Glenn.  Here is Joey doing what he likes best, watching to see if any humans are going to take him for a walk.  Joey loves snow, but he is anxious for spring.  We are grateful that this organizations does such good work, and that we are the beneficiary of their fostering efforts.  Joey has turned out to be a fabulous friend.

Think Spring at Turtle Ridge

red-boat-tulipsback3The Boat Bag is a retro styled bag, inspired by a bag my Mom carried in the 40’s. It’s not the same shape, just the same feel of that era.  It is embossed with a tulip design reworked from vintage Turtle Ridge circa 1970’s. This bag was also designed from comments made by our customers.  The boat bag is zippered, has a light lined interior, 2 inside pockets, one zippered and a zippered outside pocket big enough for cell phone and keys. The strap is a bit shorter, so the bag hangs close to the body, but it can be ordered with a longer strap to go across the body. The oval bottom makes the bag stand up.  It has a clean crisp look and the style and constuction will last and last. Red has been outselling black, a big surprise. It is about 8″ X 12″ Price $465 In stock, call to order. 920.854.4839

Turtle Ridge showing at the American Craft Council Show in Baltimore

It is our 26th year at the high-quality, prestigious American Craft Council Show in Baltimore, MD. www.craftcouncil.org. This year we will be arranging our booth with free standing panels and tables creating vignettes of our popular dresses paired with handbags, scarves, shawls and fiber wall pieces. New bag shapes featured are the La Bolsa Grande, the Bella Clutch, Boat Bag; new designs are retro tulips, dragonfly and barberry. We have really responded to our customers requests. Experimentation in trapunto surface design, new construction methods and unusual color combinations will add to the wide variety of choices in our limited edition bags. Our silk wall-hangings, scarves and shawls combine painting, printing and piecing techniques. In response to the Craft Council’s focus on “green craft” our recycled tee products will be shown in Baltimore for the first time, they pair well with our lime, sky blue, purple and fucshia soft structured classics. http://www.turtleridgegallery.com
